It was very hard to get up this morning but we were up and away by 9am. We had a lovely, relaxing boat trip along the River Seine and now we are in the airport waiting to board. All looks ok for arrival at Ballyhalbert at 7.30 pm so far!
We spent the whole day in Disney today and, yes, the weather was sunny. Hooray!
After breakfast it was a trip to Disney studios where we learnt about special effects. First we were blown up and then we were in a tsunami! After that we went off to see a parade of some of the Disney stars in their cars. We saw Woody and Jessie, Aladdin and the Genie, Mickey and Minnie and many more. The real Daisy Duck went to get Donald to show him their picture on Carlie's T-shirt! We went on the Tower of Terror and the Aerosmith ride and then went off to see a stunt show with cars and motorbikes.
Once we had seen everything in Disney Studios, we went back to Disneyland for some more shopping and many more rides. We stayed in Disney all evening and were wowed by the Dream Show at night. 14 hours in Disney and all the children have gone straight to bed. We are all exhausted and were having competitions to see whose feet were the most sore! I'm still convinced that I won!!
We were all up and awake by 7.30 and down for breakfast by 8am. I would like to say we were bright eyed and bushy tailed, but that might be a slight exaggeration!! On the upside, once we told the children it was Disney day, they soon perked up and were ready to go. On the downside, it was drizzling!
So the shuttle bus took us into Disneyland and we headed for Thundermountain. Sadly, it was closed so we went straight on to Indian Jones. On the upside, most of us were tall enough to go on the ride. On the downside, it was raining now!
After Indiana Jones, we went over to the Pirates of the Carribbean ride and were delighted that everyone could get on this ride. On the downside, it was pouring!! We stopped for lunch and had pizza while enjoying some singing and drumming and then went on a Pinocchio tide and the Carousel, followed by the big one... Space Mountain! Apparently it was 'awesome'! On the downside, we were soaked. (But we didn't mind as it was so much fun!) After a quick trip to a Buzz Lightyear ride and It's a Small World, we went back to the hotel to have dinner and get changed.
After dinner we had a rest in our rooms to warm up and dry out before heading back down to Disney village for a bit of shopping. The children were brilliant at working out how much money they had to spend and what they could get for the amount of money they had - an excellent maths challenge!! They also showed their kindness and thoughtfulness for their families as they bought pressies for family back home. On the downside, we were all exhausted and had sore legs and feet as we walked round the shops. Some children were complaining as much as the teachers were but we didn't let that stop us from shopping! So it is now 12.30 and everyone is tucked up in bed. We can't wait until tomorrow!!! Two children are also wondering if the tooth fairy will come tonight! We will have to wait and see!!
All travel arrangements went smoothly and the children were brilliantly behaved during the flight. Despite the forecast, when we arrived in Paris it was dry and by late afternoon the temperature was up to 25 degrees! We got stuck in a traffic jam heading into Paris so we had to cut our tour short but the children were happy with that as there was no air con on the bus and it was quite stuffy! We had a very late dinner and then took a trip into Disney village to go window shopping. Some of the children thought it was hilarious that we were shopping for windows!!! A nice brisk walk seemed to do the trick as the boys and girls were all asking when it would be bedtime! Hopefully this will mean a good night sleep tonight. It has just gone 12.30 and I have been round to check the rooms. All is quiet!
